What you'll learn

  • How the Google Ad Grant gives churches $10,000/month in free ads
  • How to qualify for and apply for the Google Ad Grant
  • Keyword strategy for churches — what people actually search for
  • The difference between Google Search and Display ads for churches
  • How Google Ads and your church website work together

Notes

  • Google offers search ads and display ads, but this session focuses on search ads.
  • Display ads are image blocks across websites, like a digital billboard for your area.
  • Organic results are free rankings, while paid ads show at the top and are marked Ad.
  • Many other churches can outrank yours, so a paid ad helps you show up when people search.
  • Target a small area, like your city or a radius around your church, for phrases like churches near me.
  • You can also advertise ministries, like a preschool, prayer requests, or help for people in a rough season.
  • You can target many phrases and add negative keywords to block searches that do not fit.
  • Keep your goal in mind, and use call buttons since most searches happen on phones.
  • Send ad clicks to a focused landing page on your website, such as one for a Christmas Eve service.
  • You pay only when someone clicks, and starting around five dollars a day works; Google often sends ad credit offers.

Isabelle Faletti (00:00):

Hello there, and welcome at ChurchSpring Live, episode 23. We are so excited to be hopping on live stream here today to be talking about a very fun topic, I think, Google Ads. While we are waiting for some people to jump into the live event, go ahead and introduce yourself. Add your name, your church name, where you’re from in the comments below, so that we can say a personal hello to all of our live attendees. While you are doing that, I do want to welcome a few new members that we have to the Church Spring Family. Welcome St. Peter Baptist Church from Glen Allen, Virginia. We have First Baptist Church from Missouri and Peace Lutheran Preschool from Grand Island, Nebraska. Yes, we have some non-church, non-profits and organizations with us here at ChurchSpring.
